The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of all outstanding payments for perishables owed to Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) covering two key periods: 29 July–31 August 2025 and 1 September–17 October 2025.

In a directive issued on 10th December 2025, the GES instructed all Regional Directors of Education to immediately notify heads of SHS and SHTS institutions that the funds have been successfully transferred into their respective school accounts.

This brings long-awaited relief to school heads who have been managing essential food supply challenges due to delayed reimbursement. The release is expected to stabilize feeding arrangements across boarding schools for the rest of the academic calendar.

GES further reminded all heads of beneficiary schools to submit official receipts confirming the funds received. These are to be forwarded to the Director-General through their Regional Accountants as part of the mandatory financial accountability process.
