Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council Urges Return of Helicopter Crash Site Items

The Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council (ARCC) has formally appealed to residents to return any items taken from the scene of the helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday, 6th August 2025.

In an official statement issued by Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Council confirmed that intelligence reports indicate some individuals who were among the first at the scene removed components of the helicopter and other belongings. These items include, but are not limited to, metals, screws, drives, and boards.

The ARCC has instructed that all such materials, regardless of size or apparent value, be surrendered to the appropriate authorities. Items may be handed over to Unit Committee members, Assembly Members, Municipal or District Chief Executives, or members of the official investigative team on site.

As part of the directive, the Council is offering a cash reward for the voluntary return of items before the deadline of Monday, 11 August 2025.

The statement further cautioned that anyone found in possession of such items beyond the stipulated date will be considered to have committed a criminal offence and will face prosecution in accordance with the law.

Officials emphasised that the measure is intended to protect the integrity of the investigation into the cause of the fatal incident.

“The general public is hereby notified,” the statement concluded.
