Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kumawu Constituency, has extended his support to Elvis Marfo, a brilliant 2024 WASSCE graduate, by donating GH₵10,000 to assist in furthering his education.
Elvis Marfo, a graduate of Adisadel College in Cape Coast, achieved an exceptional performance by scoring 8As in the just-ended WASSCE examinations. His academic excellence earned him admission to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
However, due to financial difficulties, Elvis turned to social media to appeal for assistance from the general public to cover his educational expenses. The appeal caught the attention of Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, who is known for his unwavering commitment to supporting education in his constituency.
The MP responded swiftly by donating GH₵10,000 to help Elvis commence his program. Additionally, Mr. Francis Opoku Asare, affectionately called Kwame Bee, who is a close friend of the MP, contributed GH₵5,000 to supplement the initial amount. This brought the total support to GH₵15,000.
Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim emphasized that this cash donation will cover Elvis’s academic fees, residential user fees, and other essential charges for his first academic year at KNUST. The MP also assured Elvis of his continued support throughout his academic journey, particularly during his time at the tertiary level.
The MP expressed his firm belief in the power of education as a tool for transforming lives and empowering individuals to contribute meaningfully to society. He commended Elvis for his exceptional performance and urged him to maintain his focus and dedication to his studies.
