Reports indicate that the reconstruction project is progressively ongoing, with some residents of Appiatse already moving into their newly constructed homes. This marks a major step in the government’s efforts to resettle those affected by the disaster. The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, had earlier inaugurated the first phase of the community’s reconstruction, signaling the government’s dedication to the project.

The government has honored its promise by constructing a modern housing project tailored to meet the needs of the affected residents. The project includes 124 new housing units, varying in size from one-bedroom to seven-bedroom apartments. These units are equipped with other essential facilities, providing a comfortable and dignified living environment for the beneficiaries.

Mr. Thomas Yaw Enyam, the Assembly Member for the Bepoh-Appiatse Electoral Area, reported that about 70% of the residents expected to relocate have already moved into their new apartments. This development is a testament to the progress being made in the reconstruction efforts and the government’s commitment to seeing the project through to completion.

To facilitate the relocation process, the Municipal Chief Executive, Dr. Isaac Dasmani, provided a vehicle to transport the beneficiaries from their temporary lodging to their new homes. This gesture further demonstrates the local government’s support for the resettlement initiative.

Dr. Dasmani also appealed to the remaining residents who are yet to be relocated to exercise patience, assuring them that plans are in place to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.

As the remaining residents prepare to move into their new homes, the successful reconstruction of Appiatse stands as a symbol of hope and renewal for the entire community.
