Bahankra D/A Basic School in the Kumawu District has been crowned the Best Junior High School in Practical Agriculture at the 41st Farmers’ Day Celebration.
The 2025 National Farmers’ Day, held under the theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future,” took place at the Mampong Difie Square on Friday, 5th December 2025. The event brought together several MMDAs, including Mampong, Ejura-Sekyedumase, Kwabre East, Sekyere South, Sekyere East, Sekyere Central, and Sekyere Kumawu.
Bahankra D/A Basic School emerged as the overall best JHS in the Practical Agriculture category, outperforming other participating schools. The achievement highlights the school’s commitment to practical teaching and the promotion of agriculture among students.

The Headteacher, Mr. Joseph Asimenu, received the award on behalf of the school and commended both staff and students for their dedication.
The District Director of Education for Kumawu, Mr. Kwame Oduro-Owusu, has congratulated the school for winning the competition and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence.
The Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Akwasi Amankwa, and the Coordinating Director, Mr. Emmanuel Appiah-Kubi, together with Headteachers and Teachers across the district, have also extended their congratulatory messages.
Bahankra D/A JHS has been praised for bringing pride to the Kumawu District through this outstanding performance.
