The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has inaugurated a smart classroom to enhance teaching and learning.
The inauguration of the smart classroom was led by Professor Johnson Nyarko Boampong, the Vice-Chancellor of UCC. In a brief address, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that this state-of-the-art Smart Classroom has been constructed at the University of Cape Coast to promote teaching and learning through the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The University has also been formally designated as the Ghana National Centre for the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE), according to the Vice-Chancellor. He further stressed that UCC’s role as a national hub for teacher professional development and a catalyst for digital transformation in higher education has been instrumental in advancing education in Ghana.
Reports indicate that the facility was constructed through a five-party partnership between the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI), the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) from the People’s Republic of China, the University of Cape Coast (UCC), the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) under the auspices of UNESCO, and OS-EASY Group Holding Ltd.
