The Ghana Education Service (GES), through its Special Education Division, has announced a vacancy for headship positions in Special Schools catering to learners with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) and those with Hearing Impairments (EHI).
In a circular signed by Helena Mensah (Ms.), for the Ag. Director-General, GES is inviting qualified and experienced personnel within the Service to apply for these key leadership roles. The appointments are aimed at strengthening leadership in special education institutions to enhance inclusive education and support for learners with disabilities.
To be eligible, applicants must be professional graduate teachers with a satisfactory work record in the GES, currently holding the rank of Deputy Director or higher. Additionally, candidates must have a background in both EIDD and EHI education, be computer literate, and have at least three years of service remaining before compulsory retirement.
GES emphasizes the need for experienced leaders who can advance the goals of inclusive and equitable education, ensuring no learner is left behind due to disability.
Applicants are required to submit an application letter, curriculum vitae, and relevant supporting documents including a letter of recommendation from their Head of Department and a copy of their current promotion letter and certificates. All applications must reach the Director of the Special Education Division no later than Friday, 25th July 2025. Late submissions will not be entertained.
