Kumawu Bans Noise Making Following the Funeral of Barima Asumadu Sakyi II

The Kumawu Traditional Council has issued a general notice regarding a ban on noise-making in the Kumawu Township. The announcement was made through a letter signed by Augustina Twum Barima, the Registrar of the Kumawu Traditional Council.

According to the letter, the Council has resolved to observe the final funeral rites of the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II, Kumawumanhene, from October 12 to October 19, 2024. As part of this solemn occasion, the Council has enforced a ban on all forms of noise-making within the Kumawu Traditional area, effective from October 1, 2024, to October 31, 2024.

The letter further highlighted that Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, the current Kumawumanhene, has given his full endorsement of the noise-making ban during this period of mourning. The directive aims to ensure that the community maintains a respectful atmosphere during the funeral rites.

Residents and visitors are therefore urged to comply with this directive as part of the customs and traditions observed in honoring the late chief.

This ban reflects the community’s deep respect for their late leader and the cultural importance of the occasion.
