The Bodomase Circuit successfully organized its much anticipated sports event in the second term of the 2025 academic year, hosting thrilling handball and athletics competitions at the Woraso Community Park. The event brought together enthusiastic young athletes from various primary schools, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.
Official Visit, Inspection and Opening of the Event
The first day of the event saw a special visit from the District Education Director, Mr. Kwame Oduro-Owusu, accompanied by the District Sports Coordinator, Mr. Emmanuel Nyadedzi. Their visit was primarily to inspect the presence of JHS teachers in their schools, as a directive had been issued for them to remain in class and continue teaching while the primary schools compete on the first two days. JHS competitions were scheduled to begin on Wednesday and continue until Friday.

Guess What, as the Handball Matches Continue
The competition kicked off with an exciting handball tournament, which drew massive interest from both participants and spectators. The preliminary rounds were intense, with many teams being knocked out early. The final showdown was between Bodomase D/A Primary and Woraso Presby Primary for the under 13 boys whiles Bodomase D/A Primary girls also rocked shoulders with Bodomase Methodist girls in the same under 13 , attracting a large crowd from the community who gathered to witness the high takes match.
The final match in the girls category was officiated by Mr. Jacob Amoako from Woraso Presby JHS and at the end of the game, Bodomase D/A girls thrashed Bodomase Methodist 6–2. In the boys category, it was officiated by Mr. Fawaz, the Circuit Sports Organizer and a sports teacher at Bodomase D/A JHS, the final match was nothing short of electrifying. Both teams displayed remarkable skill and determination, but in the end, Bodomase D/A Primary emerged victorious, defeating Woraso Presby Primary with a convincing 3-1 victory. Their outstanding performance earned them the title of handball champions.
A Well-Organized and Safe Event
The event was graced by the presence of the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO), Mr. Shadrack Sarpong of the circuit, as well as several headteachers and teachers who turned up to support their schools. Fortunately, the competition was well coordinated, with no casualties recorded, making it a successful and colorful sporting occasion for the first day as the opener.
As the event unfolded into the JHS competitions, anticipation is high for more exciting games and athletic displays. The Bodomase Circuit Sports Event has once again proven to be a platform for young athletes to shine and bring pride to their schools and communities.
