On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Mr. Boakye A Frank, popularly known as OgaLee, visited Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram Plains as part of his official duties as the Education Committee Chairperson for Presbyterian Schools in the Kumawu District. His working tour continued on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Bodwease and Akrokyere in Kumawu District.
While Drobonso and Kumawu are separate political districts, they remain united under the Presbyterian Church’s educational framework, making his visit crucial in addressing the challenges and progress of schools in both areas.
Assessing Challenges and Progress in Schools
During this visit, OgaLee engaged with teachers, administrators in discussing key issues affecting education in these communities. The interactions were fruitful and focused on finding solutions to improve the schools’ overall performance and infrastructure.
Among the major challenges highlighted by school heads were:
Lack of accommodation for teachers
Shortage of teaching and learning materials
Infrastructural deficits affecting effective learning
Despite these difficulties, school administrators, teachers, and stakeholders have worked tirelessly to uplift the schools and provide students with the best possible learning environment. Their dedication and commitment to education were highly commendable.

Strengthening Church-School Relations
One critical observation Mr. Boakye made was the weak connection between some schools and the local Presbyterian churches. While some schools receive support from the church, many achievements have gone unnoticed, and assistance remains minimal.
To address this gap, Mr. Boakye encouraged stronger collaboration between schools and local churches, emphasizing that education and religious institutions must work hand in hand to ensure holistic development for students and teachers.
Encouragement and Call for Support
As the Education Committee Chairperson, Mr. Boakye praised teachers and administrators for their resilience and hard work, despite the challenges. He urged them to remain committed to their duties, assuring them that advocacy for improved resources and better learning conditions would continue.
His visit served as a motivation for educators and a wake-up call for stakeholders to invest more in the future of education in these districts.
